TIME Cinema is a part of TIME Audio-Video-Films Group, the country’s first home video company with an experience of over 30 years in audio, video, cable TV, satellite TV, movie production and distribution. TIME Group has produced and presented over 25 Hindi blockbusters from Vijay-pathto The Hero and distributed number of films in Mumbai Circuit including Gaddar-Ek Prem Katha.
Apart from that over 3500 titles that has been published for home video under the brand names TIME and GOLD and released numerous titles on audio cassettes and CDs under the brand name TIME.
Furthermore, created a huge content library for cable television, satellite broadcasting and terrestrial television and exploited/trade through government and private sector owned channels, which heralded a long term relationship with the key players in the media and entertainment industry.
The era of Digital Cinema in India commenced with the movie The Hero on April 09 2003 which was simultaneously screened in 5 single screen cinemas in the state of Maharashtra. It was the biggest breakthrough in the world of Digital Cinema. The concept of First day, First show was introduced for the first time in Tier II & Tier III. The response was tremendous as was the box office collections, creating a history in the single screeners.

As an appreciation for his remarkable contribution in the field of home entertainment, Shri Dhirajlal Shah received ‘Shiromani Award 86’ from Giani Zail Singh, the then erstwhile President of India in the year 1988. And then came the cherry on the icing – TIME Cinema. Who else could have thought of it but the undisputed king of home video Shri Dhirajlal Shah – The name that has many firsts to its credit.
Nursing a burning desire to follow his father Mr. Dhirajlal Shah’s footstep, Jimit’s early years were marked by a determination and ambition well beyond his age. While studying at Narsee Monjee College of Commerce and Economics, Jimit simultaneously pursued a degree in Business from the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE), London. Jimit’s intense resolve to succeed was surpassed only by his belief in himself and the life he was destined for – that of an entrepreneur.
After completing his Dual Degree in 2008, Jimit jumped right into his father’s business by helping him set up TIME Cinema which is one of its kinds in Digital Cinema.
